Hi all, I bought a 2002 Ford Focus with a 1.8 TDCi diesel engine in it only 80,000 miles, i bought it cheap with the knowledge a few things needed doing. It always started but the revs dropped or the engine even stalled, especially going backwards after starting. The fix was incredibly easy, it is the EGR malfunctioning and choking the engine!
